christmas 2009

christmas was great this year. Noah was starting to understand the reason we celebrate.. about baby Jesus. He also started talking about santa, and was able to fall in love with the fairytale story end of it, without getting too caught up in it. Joe even called the house and pretended to be santa. Noah was very excited, but poor child was so afraid to get out of his bed at night for fear that santa might see him, he wet the bed. and then was afraid to come down in the morning b/c santa might still be there.
he sang happy bday to jesus and played with the nativity scenes we have and in the morning, we all reinacted the birth of jesus withe nativity scene while reading Luke in the Bible.

AFter opening gifts, we went to becky's house which is always fun to watch the cousins play together. then we went home so I could work that night.

That sunday we had my side over. It was nice, relaxing and fun. Very casual and fun to watch chris and noah playing together.

Christmas eve

Last year I dragged noah all over running around like an idiot getting last minute cmas stuff done. I made a promise to myself that it won't be that way this year.
so today we are going to make spiced apple cake, wrap gifts, celebrate, sing songs, make holiday cards and go to church at 6pm with friends.
We are going to becky's tomorrow and I am working tomorrow night. then we will have my side over on sunday.
Next year, we will have 2 boys to celebrate christmas with!!!

The Flu

well.. a week before christmas and the flu has found noah. Not nice!
started last monday, a week ago with a regular cold.. tue vomiting all evening and fever. wed h/a, diarrhea and fever. complaining that it hurts to walk up the stairs. thur back to vomiting and still a fever. friday we go to the dr.. diagnosed with flu. crap.. too late for tamiflu. (has to be within first 48 hrs). gets worse sat night with higher fever and c/o left ear pain. never had ear infection before.
went to dr beal (on call) sun morning. was miserable and wicked crabby.. whiney and all. ear red, no puss. gave amox and now on motrin and tylenol around the clock. after 3 doses of amox, seems to be feeling better. last night he was so whiney and miserable but after a full night of sleep, still doing better. and staying dry at night.
praise god for drs, 24 hr pharmacies, motrin and tylenol and tv. can't imagine poor people, single mothers without help or countries in poverty not having the things we do to get through. even back 100 years ago.. we are so blessed and fortunate to have the luxaries that we have now. and I am so glad noah does not have any underlying medical conditions like asthma that would have landed him in the hospital.
praying he gets better soon. but I think he is on his way!

potty

noah has led the way in his potty training.. we never pushed him. we let him decide when he was ready to advance to each next step. summer of 08 he went around naked all the time and we kept a potty on each level of the house. he peed when ever he felt the urge. slowly we moved the potty upstairs only, and then he advanced to a potty on the toilet, then just a step stool to get to the toilet and finally he just grew tall enough to sit. now he stands to pee. soooo much easier. he was attempting to wipe himself after poos.. until he clogged the toilet with tons of tp and then another time with a whole box of wet wipes. he tried to wipe again the other day with my prompting, but made an "ewwww" face when he saw the poos on the tp. ok.. preschool starts in sept.. we have 10 months to practice wiping.

he has been daytime diaper free since nov 08. he is awesome at peeing in public places.. if he cant reach to pee in the toilet, we build a nest of tp to sit on.

now our only obstacle is night time dryness. i ask him if he is ready to give up night time diapers (no pull ups..i hate them). he says not yet..when I am 4. (which is in a few weeks). so each night we talk about it. i don't push him-- he'll do it when he is ready, and his timeline is at age 4.
so lastnight as i got ready for bed, i see that he removed his dry diaper and left it on the bathroom floor. he got up to pee and decided he was done with the diaper.
i went to put it back on him but he was fast asleep.
so this morning i woke expecting to find a wet bed.. i even dreamed about it.
i go into his room where he is sitting up.. i ask if his bed is wet? NOPE!!!!
He said he went pee 5 times and held up his fingers to show me 5. he said he did not want to wear a diaper anymore and he reminded me that he is still 3.
what a smart boy! i praised him and hugged him and we celebrated! we called daddy and noah was so excited. i asked if he'll stay dry again tonight and he said yes. i expect accidents.. normal. but the fact he led this part of his potty training has paid off. and with our patience. i hope our 2nd baby is this easy-going.

some more cute things

seems like the older noah gets, the funnier the things he says...

so when he gets mad at me now..he walks away pouting and says, "I am not staying home ANYMORE!".
All I can do not to laugh.

Yesterday we were playing outside in the snow and noah kept asking me to pick him up to reach the tree. I told him that I am not strong enough anymore (= too tired in the pregnancy or he is too big now) and he replies, "sure you are. God made you strong!"

He likes to act like a grown up and take care of me. When I go to bed after work on saturdays, noah likes to tuck me in, turn on (his) my night light and tell me to turn off the room light. I asked him to sing rock a bye for me though, and he said no, not yet. he is not a grown up yet.

I don't know what his obsession with being an adult is, a big man. I brought him to a work baby shower last week and he had a long conversation with another coworker about him growing up and how long it takes to be big.

He told me yesterday that he no longer wants to be a police officer like auntie becky (no longer uncle becky) and tell all the bad guys to stop being naughty, but he wants to be a fireman like uncle dan. but not on a yellow fire truck, a red one.

He bought a 2nd toy with his money.. Diesel the grumpy train. hey, makes his day!

Back on memorial day, there was a fire at a local business down the road from us. Even now, in December it sits vacant with a large burned hole in the roof with a make-shift tarp falling inside, filled with snow, ice and rain. Noah remarks every day that the roof was burned and the firemen came to put out the fire, but lately he keeps asking me why it is not fixed. I told him that the owners probably do not have money to fix it. He said that he will put his money in a pail and give it to the fixers.
God, how did I get such a wonderful and sweet child? Lord, I pray that he may always be this sweet, generous and humble.

Dec 09

Some funny things noah has said recently:
I asked him how he was feeling since he had a cold. He responded, "It's not good so well. I am feeling sad."
At night on the monitor, I can hear Noah counting in spanish in bed.
We went out to dinner and the lady was washing the table. He said to her that that it sounds like the baby.. (he meant heartbeat)!

Noah does a new prayer that he made up:
open shut them prayer. I will have to video it and link it here.

He is sleeping over Auntie Becky's house this weekend as Joe and I go away to Boston for our christmas present to eachother. Noah is very excited!

halloween 09

we went to auntie becky's for a halloween party. noah was spiderman and emma and leo were priates.

it was nice out, i was able to walk around with no jacket, just a short sleeve tshirt. noah loved going to door to door and ringing the bell. he was definately the leader of the pack.

After coming back from trick or treating, noah took off his costume and hid in the bathroom trying to eat his candy in peace!

growing up...

Noah tells me, "Mom, I'm thinking I am not a bunny anymore (nickname I have had for him since he was a baby). I am a big man and don't need to sit in the booster seat." At least he breaks it to me gently that he is growing up...
At the time I felt like he was stabbing me in the heart though.

and the other day I was grumbling about how cold it is and Noah responds: "Don't worry mom. Cold means you can build leave piles!" How did he become so optimistic when I certainly am not?
He really is a light in my life. He shows me times to be humble, optimistic and happy. He really has Jesus in his heart!

big boy bed

noah got his big boy bed on Saturday. He loved it! He has been sleeping so well and I have had to wake him up each day in the morning and from naps.

The last night with his old bed..

Walking in and seeing his new bed for the first time!

I think he is happy!

such a big boy

Noah is getting a new big boy twin bed on Sat. He really wants me to lay down with him at night and I can't fit anymore. He also keeps telling me he is too big for his bed.. but little does he know that if he took out the bazillion animals in his bed, he'd fit.

One funny thing that noah does.. if he gets yelled at for misbehaving, he say: "I am sorry you yelled at me.".. kind of odd, but makes me smile and apologize.

Noah got into both Village nursery school and Valley Chistian. We declined village and decided to send him to valley in the fall for 3 days of morning 4's preschool. I love the teachers and so did he when he met them.

Noah has almost saved up for his Rocky! He is awesome about doing his chores. and he always tithes his savings too.

Yesterday noah was walking on his tip toes and trying not to walk on his heels. I asked him why and he said he did not want his feet to get hard like mine. I told him if he walked on his feet for 34 years, they'd be hard too. so.. he is trying not to. I think that is pretty smart!

You know how kids mimic their parents? The other day Noah wet a napkin with his spit and wiped my face.... I think I will stop doing that to him.
I love this age. He is sooo much fun and always says such funny things! He tells me that I crack him up! (wonder where he gets that from?)

Yesterday we had our gender u/s. Noah did his typical helping me in the dr office getting my shoes off my feet and up in the stirrups (which is not needed). He tells me not to pee out the baby when I leave a urine sample. then he runs to the u/s room.. he knows exactly where it is. when the dr told him it was a boy baby, noah said no, it is a girl baby! he really thought it was a girl! I won't tell him the name we picked b/c I know he'll tell people and we want it to be a surprise.

november 09

some funny things noah has been saying lately...
everything is "so very"...
"I so very missed you"
"I am so very starving"
I told him we had to go to the store to get him some turtle necks. he replied, "we are going to get some turtles to check my neck?"

he still calls pajamas "jamANas"
and yesterday he called me "mrs michaud".

he is getting better at blowing his nose like a "big man". and speaking of bein a big man, he is eating tons! he is always hungry. lastnight after dinner and before bed he ate two bowls of pasta! I am glad he is eating now, just hope it is not in his vain efforts to grow big. he still talks about how the kids at church once told him he was little.

noah is so good at helping me up off the floor when we are kneeling to pray. he really is such a good helper, and he always says he has to help people.

he has been requesting a big boy bed now so I can lay down with him at night. I am too big in the belly to fit in his car bed now.

he is excited to find out if we are having a boy or a girl next week.

noah really wants this new rocky the crane. he keeps asking many times a day. so we are having him do daily chores and then he gets some change to add to his piggy bank and tithe as well. we made a chart to see how much he has to earn until he can buy rocky all by himself. I hope this teaches him to respect money and that toys do not just magically appear. but he is only 3.. so not sure how much he will understand.

he seems to be fading out of his naps. he has a clock in his room now (digital like daddy) and a card nex to it that reads 4:00 for his nap and 7:00 for when he can wake up in the morning. he can get up to go to the bathroom but he must go back to bed. he was getting up at 6am and wanting to play downstairs. he can nap or play in his room but he has to stay from 2-4pm. yesterday he fell asleep on the floor behind his door! strange and it woke him up when the door hit him when I opened it up.

he is doing well stayng dry at nap but he has not initiated going without night time diapers. although he does get up to pee or poo at night. he is trying to wipe himself but goes thru tons of tp or wet wipes. he'll get it eventually but i am proud that he is initiating it himself.

noah wrote his name all by himself, 100% without prompting or assistance. he wrote it on the tub wall with bathtub crayons! so I had joe get the camera to take a picture of it. so fun!

Yankee Candle

We went to Yankee Candle up in South Deerfield, Mass today. We went with noah back in 2006 when he was 9 months old and not even crawling yet. It was so fun to go back with him and see him look at all the things again, but through older eyes. He was so excited to see Santa's workshop where he makes all the toys, but he did not want to say hi to him. After we went to the butterfly conservatory called Magic Wings. Noah had a great time looking at all the exotic reptiles and seeing tons of butterflies flying around freely. One almost landed on his head but he screamed and freaked out and it flew away. It was a nice fall day, 55 degrees out and sunny. But most of the leaves were gone, but it was still a nice drive.

apple picking was fun, a nice fall warm day. we got a few pumpkins too and our fall flowers. every fall there seems to be a warm weekend and I am glad we got to go again this year.

We went to Leo's bday party. It is so fun watching the cousins play together. Uncle Dan gave Noah his first fire helmet. This is a big tradition to a firefighter Becky told me and I am honored that Dan gave it to Noah. We got a lot of cute pictures.

It is so sweet hearing noah say he misses me and loves me. I wish I could forever remember his little voice, "I love you too, Mommy." and "I missed you so very much mommy!"

I offered Noah some nutella and strawberries. noah responded "sure! what do I want to tell ya?" hahaha

Joe told me the other day Noah was watching tv and the cartoon character asked the audience if they could get up and help them? Noah responded that he could not b/c they were in the TV! so cute!

noah is doing awesome staying dry for naps. a few accidents here and there, but really well. He is driving his success.. letting us know when he is ready for each next step. so when he is ready to give up night-time diapers, he will let us know.

he is doing well going to the bathroom independently now, not asking for help to pull up his pants or underware. and he is trying to wipe his own bottom now too.. and today I found the whole box of wet-wipes used in the toilet... good thing he did not flush!

he is getting out of bed now when he is done sleeping, vs sitting there waiting for me. still loves curious george, thomas and now diego and dora. he is saying his colors in spanish and counting to 5 in spanish. days the days of the week, we are learning the months of the year, he knows his city and state and to dial 911 for an emergency. He loves to cook, and always is asking to help in the kitchen. he wants to make leave piles outside and asks to go out all the time. today he climbed the roof to his playhouse outside..which I was wondering when he was going to finally do, being a boy.
he likes to go to "school at church", as he calls it and is learning a lot there about jesus and the bible. and he is doing well keeping his toys out of the saturday box by picking up at the end of the day. he is doing well writing his name, almost independently and really does well coloring in the pictures, not just scribbling. he knows his bday is January 2nd and that he will be 4. and that christmas is coming up.. and he is excited to be spider man for halloween this year. we are going to becky's "uncle becky" still and now uncle bunky" as a snafu noah said the other day and subsequently cracked himself up.

3 years and 9 months

We measure Noah on the wall every 3 months. Today he reached 38 inches and weighed 32 lbs. I sat with noah and looked at a lot of his baby pictures on line and he was amazed at all of his toys and the faces he made when he was little. He loved seeing him and emma playing together as babies too.

we are going apple picking tomorrow and to get our pumpkins. Noah is looking forward to the hay ride. we are going to a different farm this year. Karabin farms in southington; this one has farm animals.

September

Where has the summer gone? It rained all June and part of July and august flew by. Now the leaves are changing and it is coooold!
crazy New England weather.

I have been trying to write down on scrap pieces of paper all the things I wanted to include in Noah's blog so it will read kind of like a bulletin.

He started all his church activities like last year. On mondays he has Mops, and with the same teachers as last year, miss anne and miss sue, so he is thrilled.
tuesdays he is at nana and poppa's (john is not working and so Noah loves that he is home with them). Every other wed he has mom's bible study and then every thursday CBS. He has Mrs. Zirolli again, and is so excited! He kept asking me to go to church when I told him she was his teacher again. I felt bad he had to wait a few days.
and on Fridays we get to relax.
sat, joe and Noah do something fun together as I sleep from work and on Sun noah is in sunday school from 9am-1145. This is why he is not in preschool yet.

Noah has started watching dora and diego. they speak spanish and english on their cartoons and noah likes to say his colors in spanish like dora. at times, he forgets the word and makes his own word up. He forgot yellow and said it was "beeno" and then asked what brown was. I told him I did not know and he said maybe it was "aneemo". He is too funny! He also is learning to count to 5 in spanish.

we went out to dinner last week and noah and I shared dessert. He ate a lot, so I jokingly asked to have my dessert back. He said matter of factly, that he can't, because it went down to his belly, and then down by his pees. smart kid!

he is staying dry at nap now and gets a jelly bean when he wakes up. he is doing so well! he gets up at night to go poos as well. last night i forgot to put the nightlight on in the bathroom and he went in the dark! luckily he called me when he was done.

he went to the dentist yesterday and had the best checkup. he saw the hygienist and she kept asking if he was always this good? he behaved so well, I was so impressed!

a few weeks ago, I went to put noah to nap and he said he could do it himself. he walked me out of his room and shut his door, and got himself in bed, covered up and went to sleep! he is so funny! but at night he still asks me to sing him rock a bye :-).

he has a cup by the water cooler and now gets himself his own drinks. I love his independence. for a while now, he asks to be excused when done eating, will put his dish in the sink, milk in the fridge and push his chair in. I love what a big boy he is becoming. he is so polite, always says please, thank you and excuse me. we also got rid of his sippy cups. for a while he has been using a cup with a cover and straw. I made it official yesterday and put them all away. yay!

he now pees standing up, which helps greatly in public restrooms. sometimes his aim is off, especially if he has to go really bad, but it is easy to clean up.

he loves to rub my belly and say hi to the baby. he asked for a key to unlock my belly the other day to get the baby out. he has a baby boy doll that he sometimes will feed and hold. he'll get some practice.

we went to six flags with the legers a few weekends ago. noah and emma had a great time on the rides together. it was a hot end of summer day, lots of fun! daddy won noah a basketball.

today we are going to the Big E. Noah is so excited about the animals, rides, food, games and carnival..

Noah really plays independently so well. during a mops meeting, the lead teacher used noah as an example of how the really good kids like noah sometimes get neglected by the teachers b/c they behave so well and they have to focus on the "prickly" kids... I would rather have a well-behaved child.

when he misbehaves though, with his toys such as not picking them up or misusing them, we now put them in a Saturday box, which a pastor at church told us about. instead of getting in trouble or time out, we just put his toys that were misused in a box until the following saturday. this really has helped!!!

when noah sleeps now, when he wakes up he tells us about his stories, which are dreams. one time he woke up crying b/c he could not find me in his story. I felt so bad! and another time he was crying b/c joe took something away from him in his story. I love when he tells me that I was in his story and what fun things we did.
they are usually about boy things.. trucks, trains, motorcycles, robots...

and when he plays now, he makes pretend voices for his little people, or toys. and exploding noises and he rescues them. I absolutely love to stop what I am doing and just sit and observe him. He really is such a great kid!

He also loves to cook, often dragging a chair over to the counter and getting the cook book:

Irony of parenting life

As I was reading my friend Kate's blog, I chuckled at some of the things she wrote regarding parenting. Her morning started out with a dirty-diapered 16 month old and a cranky almost 4 year old.. she continues to write:

"I ended up feeding him a handful of Nilla wafers, and throwing on the T.V., cause he wouldn't agree to anything else. Thoughts of my B.K. (before kids) ways of thinking came to me this morning as the second kid came downstairs and demanded cookies for breakfast too. I remember so self-righteously thinking that I did NOT understand parents who let their kids eat garbage and junk food, and chicken nuggets. I get it now. Not only to I get it, I do it, a lot. Sometimes I just don't care, and sometimes I don't want a fight and am guilt-filled as I think of the nitrates, preservatives and sugar that I'm pumping my children full of."

I love how our outlook on parenting changes. I was the same way bk, "why do you let your kid run your life?" how can you let your kid eat that?" nice job as a mom...sheesh" some people should not have kids.." and now as noah had chocolate milk, chips, lolly pop and a piece of chocolate for lunch the other day as I dragged him to yet another ultrasound appointment with me and came home to nap my pregnant body on the couch and let him watch 5 episodes of veggie tales on TV.. I wonder these things about myself. "I think I will blog about this" I tell Kate in an email as I am agreeing with how much life changes when the reality of AK (after kids) hits...

Big Brother

So Noah is going to be a big brother in April. He has moments of excitment and other times of not so happy feelings... His main concern is not wanting to give up his room. We really need him to move into the other room and have his room be for the baby. But I don't want to cause resentment issues.. fortunately we have a few months to work on it. Noah came with me to a few of the ultrasounds and got to see the baby's heartbeat and hear it as well. He said he wants to have a baby brother.. which he will name, "Baby Brother". Or, he said Paul for a boy and baby Sarah for a girl.. neither of the names we will chose, but very cute he has picked these out.
He likes to rub my belly and talk to the baby. I told him the baby likes to hear him talk, being a big brother is a very important job! We bought him a boy baby doll to practice with later on and a few books about new babies and about being a big brother. We'll take our time with noah, but I know he will be such a good brother to him or her.
Here he is holding the positive pregnancy test for me to take a picture.

Summer Fun

Yesterday we brought Noah to the Dinosaur state park in Rocky Hill. It is big enough to capture his attention yet small enough not to overwhelm him. He loves dinosaurs now ever since he saw his first theater movie this summer on vacation, "Ice Age, Dawn of the Dinosaurs".

On Wednesday Joe took him to a free library end of summer party. He had a spaceship panted on his face, got a spiderman tatoo on his hand, ate an icecream cone, played games and came home with a balloon.. which he is using to make a parachute for his robot gus... creative that boy is.

We have been spending a lot of time in the pool now that summer is actually here. He was afraid of the pool some what this summer but last week we put paris in the pool and Noah got to see how a dog can naturally do the doggie-paddle.. so now all noah wants to do is swim like Paris.

We had the Adamsons over on Tuesday this week. 5 kids and 3 adults.. pizza, pool and lots of fun.

We are hoping to take one more trip to Six Flags this summer with Becky and the gang if we can find the time between everyones schedule.

funny words

tomato: maato
marsh mellow: smash mellow

Can't believe summer is winding down.. but it has been an odd summer. Spring.. it rained the whole time and the whole month of June it rained as well. July was rainy on and off and finally, August has been descent.
We are getting ready to take the wall paper down in the spareroom to make noah a new room. He is excited but does not want to give up his old room.. Hopefully in 9 months he will forget that.

jealous hair

Joe put hair gel in Noah's hair today. After it dried, Noah exclaimed he did not like it.. it was very "jealous." It took me a minute to figure out he meant that it was "gel-ous.." Giving the gel an adjective-- interesting!

Kid City

Noah and Emma went to Kid City in Middletown on Tuesday with Nana and Papa. When I went to pick him up in the evening, Emma and Noah were lounging in the den, a/c running and watching Cars. Noah exclaimed that he wanted to stay!! So he and Emma slept over night and had a fun day together. I am so glad they are so close in age and can have so much fun together.

Noah's toys

One day last week we were realizing that noah has way too many toys. I asked him if we could bring some to the local library for other kids to play with since they have very little for toys.
He was reluctant at first but then began to look around and choose which toys he wanted to give away. He had lots he wanted to bring, including a lightening McQueen car! The librarians were so happy to receive so many toys and I was so proud of Noah. He helped me bring them and even helped set them up! I told him that made Jesus very happy!

A day at the beach

Noah and his cousins Emma and Leo went to Rocky Neck state beach today with "Uncle Becky" and dan. Becky sent me a few photos through her phone. They had a great time together eating lunch on the beach and ended the day with icecream!

Funny phrases

Noah has discovered some new childrens cartoons.. albeit I am not too fond of them.

"Dora the Spore and Boobs" = Dora the Explorer and Boots

"Bob the Cheese" = Sponge Bob. (He does look like a piece of cheese!)

July 09 summer vacation

Noah is now 3 1/2.. and growing like a weed. He measured 37.5 inches and 31 lbs.
He is in size 9 shoes and wearing 3T. He is so helpful around the house, puts away dishes, empties the grocery bags, helps with laundry and taking Paris outside. He is great at picking up his toys (most of the time) and is just an all around great kid. With a few normal melt-downs and "attitudes" along the way...

Last night Noah told me I was handsome... like I tell him. so I said, "really, I am handsome? I am not pretty?" and he says,
"no, you are not pretty.. you are ...... special." ok.. great, thanks.
so I asked if Daddy was handsome. and noah says, "No. He is.... nice."
Just the compliments you really want to hear.. lol.

We just got back from a week in Rhode Island on the beach. We spent 4 days with Auntie Becky, Leo and Emma. We went to the Roger Williams Zoo, and the Providence Childrens museum, (like Kid city). We also spent lots of time on the beach. Noah and Emma would watch tv together at night up in the master bedroom and then becky would bring emma back to her bed. The cousins really had an awesome time bonding this week. The best memory is walking along our private beach at sunset and letting the kids play in the sand and surf and then rounding the corner and seeing the Point Judith Light house above the sand dunes. I did not know we were that close to it. The kids had a blast and ended up getting completely dirty, wet and tired in the regular clothes. Off to the tub for the 3 of them!

It rained two of the days so Noah went to see his first movie, "Ice Age, Dawn of the Dinosaurs". He loved it!!! He did such a great job--seeing that is was soo loud and big and hard to sit still for those few hours.
We also went to a big park, but it was closed at 3pm-- who does that? nuts!
and we brought him to an indoor playarea like Jump Zone here. We also went to a few other beaches after dusk to walk the beach and look for cool shells.

The last night we was gorgeous weather so we watched 4 sets of fireworks from the beach. One on our beach, one across on Block Island and two over to the right further down the coast. It was such a great time! The beach house was amazing and had terrific views from all of the windows. So peaceful to sleep listening to the waves.. but then the light house fog horn would sound when foggy, which was loud!!!!

On our way back we stopped in Essex to ride the train. Noah was so excited! That night, our last night of vacation, we decided to camp in a tent in our backyard! It was fun and actually comfortable. Or we were just really tired! Between the fireworks booming all night and the bright glow of the full moon, it is a wonder we got any sleep. It was really fun.

Father's Day

We had a wonderful father's day. It was fun and relaxing and most of all spent together.
We celebrated with family the day before at Auntie Becky's house.. (Uncle Becky as noah calls her). We had a nice visit and Noah, Leo and Emma had a great time playing together.
We spent last weekend at Six Flags and then spent the night over Auntie's house.
We will see them again next weekend, for our great kick off to the week at the beach together! can't wait!!

May 2009

We had a fun month... mothers day and my 34th bday.. all the better with Noah and daddy to celebrate with.
I worked the night before my bday. I called home to say good night and Noah gleefully exclaimed, "Look mom, see see??!!! Look at the balloons and decorations, see? see your cards and presents?" Lol.. so I knew I had something fun to look forward to when coming home. He also told me that he was making me a necklace at Nana's house. :-)
When I got home, they sprayed me with confetti and sang happy birthday.. noah on his guitar. Balloons and streamers were decorating the living room. I took them down a few days later to noah's dismay. He sadly asked, "the party is over?"
Later that weekend we went to nana and popa's for lunch where noah loved opening my gifts, same as my bday morning. and then later in the week we went to dinner with just lori and the kids. It was a fun time celebrating my bday.

We went to a memorial day parade and met up with friends chrissy and andy and their kids. Noah, lexi and aidan had front row seats and got to watch debbie and her boys marching in the t-ball part of the parade. we also saw cousin cheyenne in the parade and cousin chris sat with us. sadly that morning there was a horrible fire at a business down the street from us, so as the firemen all dressed in their parade-best, had to bravely fight a fire. As we came home and it was safe, noah and I walked over to the firemen so Noah could talk to them and thank them for being so brave. it was really a great moment to see noah realizing how awesome these firemen are.

Noah has been really into setting up his own drum sets lately...

Noah's prayers lately have been direct and to the point..."dear Jesus, help us and know us. jesus name we pray, amen." BUT....as he has the "christian slang" down, it all runs together as one word: "jesusprayamen."

Each morning when Noah wakes up, I ask him what he dreamed about. He will look down each time at his pajamas, and tell me he dreamed about what ever is on his shirt..
puppies, monster trucks, wall-E, Cars, it is so funny!

We are getting the pool ready for the summer and noah is still asking for his baby-suit. Better than last year, which was his "baby-soup."
A few funny things he says, "I am hungry for fruits!" and when counting, he does really well, but for 11 he says "E-lemon". and momma works at a "hospible".. he is so funny!

I am always asking Noah if he is my cutie-patootie?? and he says, "No, I AM NOT!"
Then I ask, are you handsome? and he says, "Yes, I AM handsome."

Another fun memory from this month, Noah is noticing how cute things are... a toy, a stuffed animal, a baby duck at the park, a puppy at the pet store. Noah says, "awwww, he is sooo cute!!! I love him!! I want to take him home."

A new thing now is that noah is starting to sleep with us. He never has slept with us-- always too twitchy and moving all around. So at night we started leaving his door open, and he always has known that was a signal that he may get out of bed in the morning. So now we find him in our bed in the middle of the night.. not sure why this has started. But I don't mind..:-) I love cuddle time!

Last night I got my haircut and my stylist straightened it. I came home and Noah stopped me and let me know how he felt. It is apparent 3 year old's do not like change.. they need consistency and continuity. "Mom. I don't like your hair, fix it. It's all different. it's all little (straight). Make it big (curly). I don't like it. fix it."
Great... I love a 3 year olds honesty. So when in one of his thomas the train books there is a large beach scene. Daddy is the guy laying on his face snoozing in the sand, and mommy is the hot blonde-babe sunning herself in a bikini (never!!) Like I said, I love Noah's honesty!!!

It has been a fun month. All of our church activities have ended and it has allowed us to sleep in, chill out in the morning and spend more time playing and reading.. doing art projects and playing outside. Noah helped me plant the vegetable garden, plant all of the pretty flowers in the front and the backyard and help me with yard work. He really is an awesome helper!!

He has so much fun playing out in the yard. He has a new playhouse, small play scape, slide and sandbox. It has been warm enough to play in the water table and to wash his cozy-coupe car. The gazebo tent is up so I can stay out of the sun and catch up on my reading and bible study. It is a fun age to play outside with Noah, he listens so well and has great imagination and creativity. While planting the garden, I had to "buy" rocks from him to put in my garden. The rock shop was set up in his playhouse and I had to pay him in grass and leaves. as a bonus, it was also a chocolate shop... so each customer got a parting gift of chocolate! That is one awesome rock shop!!!

Yesterday I went to my dr for a quick visit. Noah came with me and with a bag of all his "doctor stuff". While the tech was doing my vitals, Noah helped by listening to my heart and giving me a shot-- in my sternum. As I was sitting up on the table in the exam room, noah pulled a chair over, climbed up and began looking in my ears and eyes with his "dr stuff". The dr got a huge kick out of it!

Noah is so sweet, fun, imaginative, creative, intelligent, handsome and sweet. I tell him each night that I love being his momma, and that before I had him, I prayed and prayed for him and God blessed me by putting him in my belly. I want him to know how much he was wanted and how much he is loved. He truly is a gift and a blessing.
Noah is praying with me for God to bless us with another baby. It has been 10 months of trying, I will wait as long as it takes to be blessed with another baby like Noah. God knows the plans he has for us, I will wait for him. He is my Lord and savior, Alpha and Omega, beginning and end. His ways are not my ways and his thoughts not my thoughts. I will wait on the Lord.
