Noah walked today, new years eve!!!! it was with his home depot big truck that you sit on, but the back rest you can use to push it. so, today, he decided he wanted to walk for the first time! albeit, not alone, but still very exciting!!!! Learned to crawl on Halloween, 1st tooth on Christmas and first steps on New Years Eve!

getting ready to turn ONE!

(11m 28d)
Noah got his first tooth on Christmas day. He woke up in the morning, not with the top tooth that we thought, but the bottom left!! A few months ago we thought it was the bottom right coming in... well, we were wrong! All I wanted for Christmas for Noah was a tooth. sounds like a cliche, but it is true! I wished for him to have a tooth by his first birthday, and it has happened.

Today we celebrated Christmas with my side of the family. So it was Noah's 2nd christmas this year and he got his second tooth... on his 2nd christmas!

He had a great time on both days with the family. Tomorrow we are having New years Eve dinner with Joe's family. Noah and Emma have so much fun playing together. We are also having Noah's 1st year pictures taken, along with our family portrait. I hope he is feeling ok, he has another cold.

We have taken the pacifier away from him. He was only using one for sleep, and he has done well with a few nights and naps without it. we'll see how he does with this cold though.

We started him on some whole milk, too. He is doing well, having it combined with the formula. Pretty soon will be straight milk. Can't believe we will be done with the costly formula! Although I can't complain, we have only used it for a few months, since I stopped nursing him at 9 months. He is doing pretty well with finger foods, too. He has great dexterity and can pick up small pieces using the pincer grasp; he mastered that pretty early actually.

His new car seat is installed, waiting for him to try it out. No more baby carseat, and carrying him around in that infant carrier. I will miss it, even though he was heavy in it. He still weighs 21 pounds! I looked back at his weights and at 9 months he was 20 pounds. He must be keeping the weight off by crawling so much and all of the cruising he does and now walking in the walker.

I can't believe he will already be 1 in a few days. Just seems like yesterday that my water was breaking on New Years day morning....

BABY'S FIRST CHRISTMAS!

Noah had such a great time opening presents in the dining room, where the tree was. He got new books, baby faith videos, and a great new jeep walker!

and Noah woke up with his very first tooth!!!

New words

(11m 9d)
Noah is finally getting a tooth. his upper gum on the right is swollen and you can see white underneath. He is super cranky at night time for bed, past three nights have been really difficult getting him to sleep.

He has been saying new words! "Jack" and pets jack the dog. His new words are also Dog, cat, and kiss. He still says mama and dada. It is so fun watching him learn new things and copy us. We are teaching him to pray before meals and to put his hands together. He caught on pretty quickly today. He also learned to clap today! We have been clapping forever with him and today out of no where he started clapping! He has randomly been waving bye with just his fingers but last night we were saying good bye and he started to wave a big good bye! He learns pretty quickly with some things and remembers well, too. There is one song I sing to him about sitting in a high chair and banging on my spoons (the song is about a baby waiting for his lunch and he bangs his spoons). When I sing this, I tap the high chair and Noah caught on so quickly. I just start to sing the first few words and he automatically bangs on the high chair every time!

He is all over the place! He cruises between the coffee table and uses his ball/slide toy to hold onto to get over to the couch or chair. or he uses his exersaucer to do the same thing. He will let go of the table for a few seconds to step towards you, but he has such trepidation! He'll get there soon enough!

first christmas tree

(11m 4d)
Can't believe my baby will be a year in less than a month! He is cruising the couch and coffee table now and even walking in between them. He is a crawling maniac! He is so fast and gets into every thing!

We put up the tree and Noah helped. He has a few decorations of his own already that he helped put up. The tree is in the dinning room, so he does not have access to it readily. If in the living room, he'd pull it down!

Still no teeth, oh well. Joe was late, too, according to his mom. Noah is starting to do well with the sippy cup, can't believe he'll be drinking whole milk from it soon and no more formula!

Firsts...

10 months!
Noah had a great first halloween dressed as a dalmation. he went to visit his cousin Emma, who was tigger. They had a great time playing together. and that was when Noah started to crawl! I guess watching emma go go go really encouraged him to get moving. Or he learned to move to defend himself, she really pounces on him!! They have so much fun together! She was playing with a toy fire engine and noah really wanted it. They were both in their pj's and he just started to crawl after it.

His first haircut went well. He looks like such a little boy now, so cute! He frowned a little bit, but really did quite well.

new meals and new schedule

(9m 3d)
Noah's 9 month check up went great! The day before his 9th month bday, I saw a little white dot poking through on the bottom left tooth in his mouth! We also stopped nursing the day he turned 9 months, I am so proud that I was able to nurse him until he was 9 months!

Noah started 3 meals a day yesterday and it went well! I have also been introducing new textures and tastes. So far he has had cottage cheese and apple sauce mixed together, little pastinas with a little bit of sauce, yogurt mixed with applesauce and bannana chunks and of course cheerios. He seems to be doing very well and got the pediatricians approval to begin.

We are trying him on a consistant schedule. He has 4 bottles (8, 12, 4, 8), 3 meals (9a, 1p, 5p), and 2 naps, (10 and 2pm). so far it is going well. I know things happen such as gymboree and play dates that will disrupt it. The days that I work the night before are a little hard as he is up at 530am to go to nana's, so that throws off his schedule a bit. But he is so easy going and flexible, it seems to be ok with him.

I called to schedule his first haircut for 10/11. His bangs are long and he has hair growing over his ears. Joe will be getting a haircut, too, so hopefully noah will see daddy and be ok with getting one himself!

almost off the boob...

(8m 25d)
I can't believe noah is almost 9 months old! He says mamma, dadda and baba (bottle).

Noah is just about weaned from the breast, sadly to say. He'll probably nurse one more week and will be done. 9 months has been wonderful and I am delighted that I have been able to give him breast milk. It has been such a special time and I will greatly miss it. But, he is so active and always wants to get down and play.. there are times he actually shakes his head no at me when I go to nurse him! What a kid!

He still has no teeth.. I guess Joe was a late teether, too, according to his mom.

Noah can get up on all 4's and rock back and forth, but no crawling has happened yet. He can pull himself up on his boucer to get the buckle and on the outside of his exersaucer, two unsafe things!

He loves the dogs, and laughs so hard when they bark and play!

We started giving Noah different food textures, like small chuncks of banana, cottage cheese and coarsely ground steamed broccoli. We see the pedi on monday, and will ask if he can have cheerios and the like, since he has no teeth.

3rd cold

(8m 15d)
Today Noah went from a sitting up position down to the floor, onto his belly. This is a big step for him and he did it perposefully, not falling down. And also today, he attempted to feed himself with a spoon! He actually did very well. He has great aim and coordination! It was all an accident, I gave him a baby spoon to play with while I was feeding him breakfast, because he kept trying to grab his spoon. He just started sticking the play spoon into his mouth! So I would dip it into his food and he'd feed himself! He was a huge mess, but who cares? He was having fun!

He has his 3rd cold sadly...He got it from the nursery at church. What can you do? At least he is in play groups and interacting with other children, and unfortunately, those are the consequences!

great grandma

(8m 6d)
I can't believe how fast he is growing! His great grandmother is up from Florida and he has been seeing her a lot. She loves him, and says, "Give me my pumpkin!" every time she sees him.

Noah is saying "Dadda" now, started about 2 weeks ago.

He might be teething now finally. He is waking up at night and not taking much of a bottle during the day. He only nurses well in the morning.

We offered him a sippy cup on his 8 month bday. He mostly just plays with it, banging it around.

We are sad to be closing the pool already, especially since noah loved it so much. maybe I'll take him to the ymca this winter to swim.

No real signs of crawling yet. He'll lay on his belly and put his butt up in the air or get on his knees for a few seconds.

He had his consultation today at the pediatric urologists for his circ. It will be done later this year.

seven months

Noah has grown so much over the past two months. He is rolling all over the place and doing pretty well sitting up now. He definitely prefers to stand and locks his knees when you go to place him in a sitting position!

His hair is getting so long on top, sticks up like duck fur! I can't believe how blond he is!

He started saying mama! I think it was around July 24th for sure, but a few days prior we thought we heard some mama's...now we are working on dada!

He loves to touch my face when nursing and stick his fingers in my mouth, which I find to be darling!

He is still going to gymboree once a week, and really having a ball! In September, he starts a music class in Southington. That should be a lot of fun!

For the longest time, we have been placing our finger in front of his lips and wiggle it up and down and he makes a funny sound (hard to describe.) But the funny thing is that he now does it himself! With his left hand, wondering if he will be a lefty?

He is eating two meals a day, still breastfeeding and taking a few 6-8 oz bottles of half br milk and formula. He sleeps well through the night, all though Joe says he wakes up a few times the nights I am at work.

He loves his exersaucer and jumper that we hang from the door jam. He certainly knows how to have a good time!

Life has just been so amazing with him, we are so blessed!

Father's day!

(5m 2w)
Today is Father's day! Noah went in the pool for the first time and he loved it! I knew he would, he loves his baths so much. He did so well in his baby float. Emma went in the pool for her first time, too. She did not enjoy it as much, but she still had some fun.

Noah joined the local gymboree class one day a week for activities such as group playing and singing with other moms and kids. I met a bunch of other moms, too. It is so nice to be with other moms and their babies watching the kids play together! Next week we are going to Boston, we'll see how Noah does with traveling and sleeping in a foreign place.

Noah is rolling very well from his back to his belly, but no desire to roll the other way. He is sitting up--tripoding as they call it, balancing with his hands on the floor, between his legs. He is eating cereal and fruit every day and doing quite well! We will be starting vegetables soon.

(5m 3w)
He is changing so much and doing so many new things! Yesterday, Joe discovered if you hold Noah by his hands, he will pull himself up to a standing position! Last night, he decided to sleep on his belly for the first time. And today, he showed me how he can take his pacifier out of his mouth and put it back in; such great fine motor control he has over his hands! This morning he was on his belly and pushed himself up on his arms, with straight locking elbows! And each day, he gets better at sitting up by himself! So many firsts are happening!

rolling over!

5m 4d)
Noah rolled over for the first time today! He has been working on it for a few weeks, and today, he was on his back and he rolled over to his belly! He did it 4 more times, and it was so great to see!

We have been working on him sitting up on his own and last night he did it! He ended up slumping forward all the way and started playing with his toes, but before that, he balanced well and stayed there for a few minutes!

Another neat thing that Noah is doing... he turns on his fisher-price aquarium in his crib. He wakes up in the morning and finds the button (a big blue clam shell) and turns it on and off, on and off, it is funny to hear! That is how he wakes us up, we hear Brahms lullaby playing and then noah starts spinning a rolling toy in the aquarium. He is so funny, just keeping himself entertained while we wake up!

He has been having cereal every day now since the 2nd, and enjoying it! Pretty soon we will move on to pureed fresh fruits and veggies. Joe and I want to try making his foods for him, I hope he enjoys those!

Happy baby!

Noah is 5 months old today! We celebrated by giving Noah his first taste of rice cereal today, out of a little bowl and a cute little baby spoon. He loved it and kept opening his mouth for more. He is so happy and talkative today. He went with me to my nail appointment and he was flirting with all of the ladies. Then we went grocery shopping and he was smiling at everyone. We came home and he was talking and cooing and laughing... I could not have asked for a happier baby!

My toes!

(4m 27d)
It took Noah almost 2 weeks to get over that cold! He was also wheezing, and was on albuterol treatments. This concerns me, as he also has eczema. I hope this does not turn into an asthma/allergies/eczema thing for life!

I had a wonderful first mothers day! It was so amazing to remember back that a year before, it was that day that Noah was conceived! and then on my 31st bday, it was great to remember that was the day we found out that I was pregnant!

He is so funny now, he is discovering other parts of his body! He was patting his knees and so I showed him that he had toes and feet and oh, the look on his face was priceless! Wide eyes and a big open mouth, as if to say, "Those are mine??!!" It is so funny to watch him playing with his toes, I just wait for the day that he tries to put them into his mouth! He loves when I kiss his feet, and when I am doing it, he raises his foot to my mouth, he is just so funny!

He is going through some kind of irritable/cranky/don't want to sleep-stage. Not sure if he is teething, but he does love to chew on everything, including his hands and is drooling so much!

We are opening the pool up next weekend, I can't wait to get him in there!

First cold

(4m 10d)
Noah has his first cold. Joe called me at work at 230am the other night, Noah was screaming in the back ground. I felt so absolutely horrible that I had to be at work and not home to comfort my sick baby. Yesterday morning, he was nasally congested and irritable, and then in the afternoon, was sneezing and had a clear runny nose. He only felt good when sitting up right or when nursing. Unfortunately, I had to sleep for work, as I was already awake for over 24 hrs. I gave him some pediacare and tylenol, hoping he slept through the night for Joe. Poor little guy, I bet it was that toddler that ran up to him at the nutritionists office and was touching him. I guess this will start getting his immune system prepared!

growing baby!

(4m 7d)
I just can't get over how much Noah is changing! He is laughing now, giggling and screaches in pure delight! He sleeps so well through the night and wakes up in a happy mood! He is grabbing his toys with his hands now and starting to put things in his mouth. It's fun watching him explore his toys and have fun playing with them!

He is getting so close to rolling over from his back to his stomach. It will be any day now. He has really good head control, too. He loves to sit in his high chair and play with his toys and watch mommy cook or do the dishes. He also loves to watch the poodles playing. I love that he notices them now. They are very sweet and gentle to Noah, too.

We went to visit Scott and Jen yesterday, and Noah played in the boy's outdoor fisher price red plastic swing. He really liked it! We have to put ours up soon.

It is just amazing to see the change in him in just a few days. He has not been in his inside swing for about a week, and today, he just realized the toys on the tray are fun and make noise! He is giggling and laughing and making them move and make noise!! I just can't get over his development. I know this is all normal baby stuff, but I am just in aww!!!

He does not need his swaddle me or wedge in his crib anymore. It's funny, he wakes up at the top of his crib every night; I guess he just wiggles his way up there.

I forget how little he was when he was born. Friends and coworkers remind me, when they see him again. I don't remember. I am glad we have video and pictures. I just measured his feet against his new born footprints from the hospital; they have grown 2 cm! I should compare his head!

Don't want to go back to work

(4m 2d)
I have returned to work, which makes me sad. I really enjoyed being home with Noah. I am part time at least, and I can be with him 4 days at week. I am working at night, so I nurse Noah and put him to bed. Joe gives him a bottle around 430am or when ever Noah wakes up and then he goes back to sleep. I get to nurse him when I get home from work, so it is not too bad.

Noah is growing and changing every day! He loves to sleep, and will usually sleep 8-11 hrs at night, wake up to nurse and then go back to sleep for an hour or two. He still loves to be swaddled for sleeping, but I am sure once he starts rolling, he will be done with it.

I can't wait for the pool to be open this summer, he will hopefully love swimming with Emma and playing outside!

Noah went for his 4 month check up on April 28th. He weighed 14.4 and was 23 3/4 inches. He is in the 10th percentile for his height and 25th for his weight. He did not like the shots at all; he cried really hard, which broke my heart. But the dr said he is doing really well and can't believe it is the same baby!! He said we can start giving him solid foods at any time now. I am just going to wait until he can sit up more on his own.

First Easter

(3m 19d)
Noah enjoyed his first Easter, visiting Nana and Grandpa's church. Emma and Aunt Becky and Uncle Dan were there, too! Then we went to Aunt Lori and Uncle Scott's for Easter dinner. Cousin Christopher was always wanting to hold Noah. Cousin Cheyenne is not really interested in him so much. Noah got a very cute present from Robin, Scott's half sister. It is a sing and play puppy, that does just that if you press his ears, hands, ect...Noah just loves it!
He is still doing well sleeping through the night; about 12 hours in total, but does wake up at some point, usually 430am for a feeding. He is such a good baby, so calm and even tempered. He has such a good spirit and it always happy! He is such a blessing!

I am sad that I am going back to work next week. I have so enjoyed my time home with Noah. It is only part time, though. Joe will watch him the days he is not working, and if we both happen to be working, Nana (Sandi) will watch him for a few hours in the morning, until I get out of work. It will be tough with no sleep, but at least Noah is staying out of day care, which is the most important thing!

He is going for his 4 month check up and next series of shots next Friday. I can't believe he will be 4 months on May 2! He is trying to roll over, he gets on his side, but those arms and shoulders tend to get in the way! He is not liking tummy time so much anymore. He used to love it! And when I put him on his play mat, he moves himself around in a circle! I put him down in one direction, and before you know it, he is totally facing the other way! He loves to pull on the monkey's legs that hang from the arch above the play mat. It is so good seeing him develop more each day!

Sleeping through the night...

(3m 5d)
I am so excited that I have to write! Noah slept 8 1/2 hrs last night!!! I need to note, it has been a week since I moved him out of the bassinet from our room, to his own crib in his room. I wonder if I made this transition sooner, if he would have slept through the night earlier? This is the first time he has slept through the night and we are so excited for him. He had a nice bath (playing and relaxing)and br fed well and went to bed. Next thing I knew, it was 545am! He soaked through his diaper and I had to change his clothes and give him his medicine (zantac for reflux) and he smiled! Usually he gets mad if I change him and give his medicine before he eats, but this morning he was laughing and smiling! What 8 hrs of sleep will do for a kid!

Welcome to Noah's page!

Noah is 3 months and 4 days
Joe thought it would be a good idea to keep friends and family up to date on Noah's latest experiences and pictures, so we are starting this web site.

Each month on the 2nd, we have been video taping him, showing his growth and development. I state his latest endevors while recording him for a few minutes. It has been fun watching him change these past 3 months. We must have at least 400 photos of him already, or it seems like that much. I just can't get over how much we love this little baby! He has been a blessing and a joy and we thank God every day for him!

What's new with Noah? He laughs and smiles so much! He always wakes up with a big stretch and a big wide open-mouth smile. He loves bath time, relaxing in his baby tub and kicking in the water. He loves when mommy sings to him and he "sings" back! His 3 favorite songs are 'Mrs.O'Leary' (a cow kicked a lantern over and started a barn fire).. '5 little monkeys' (jump on a bed and bang their heads) and '5 little ducks' (go out to play, get lost and get yelled at by their dad)... Noah has a great sense of humor!!!

He loves having converstations with his "friends", the bears on his swing, the animals on his crib mobile and the velcro guys that hang from his boucer.

He started sleeping in his crib 2 night before turning 3 months. Until then, he was next to me in a bassinet that we borrowed from our friend, Chrissy. It was so hard moving him there, but he needed to have a more consistant place to sleep (and larger). Plus, as I am going back to work in a few weeks, he needs to be settled in his crib.

He is still nursing every 3 hrs during the day and goes about 5 hrs at night. I am hoping he will sleep through the night by the time I go back to work, so Joe can get a good night sleep for work. (I will be working night shift.) Joe's mom will be watching Noah in the mornings that our work schedules over lap for a few hours. We are so thankful!

Thanks to everyone for all of your support, prayers and love during my pregnancy and child birth. It means a lot to Joe and I to have such great friends and family. Noah is very blessed to be loved so much!
